What is the Nutri-Score?
The Nutri-Score is a voluntary nutritional labelling system. It is intended to help people eat a healthier and more balanced diet. At the same time, it is intended to provide consumers with guidance when shopping. The Nutri-Score labelling evaluates ingredients such as calories, protein, fat and fibre in a food. Consumers can quickly compare foods using a 5-level scale on the front of the packaging (A = dark green to E = red). This makes a balanced diet simple and transparent. We value transparency and have therefore voluntarily labelled our cheese. So that you always know what you are eating.
How is the Nutri-Score calculated?
When calculating the nutritional value table, good nutritional values are offset against less good nutritional values. Energy, sugar, saturated fatty acids and salt are among the less positive values, while fruit, vegetables, pulses, fibre and protein are among the positive nutritional values. A certain number of points is awarded for each criterion. The total number of points is calculated by Sum of the unfavourable nutritional value criteria minus the sum of the favourable nutritional value criteria. The more points, the less favourable the food is rated. The food is categorised on the basis of this score. The product is then assigned to the appropriate category of the food traffic light with colours and letters.
