"Naturally lactose-free"?

Some people suffer from an intolerance to milk and dairy products. The reason for this is the milk sugar it contains, better known as "lactose". This intolerance varies greatly among those affected. For some people, the consumption of even small amounts of lactose leads to symptoms, while others can tolerate it up to a certain level. Only in the rarest of cases does the consumption of dairy products have to be completely avoided. In order to be able to enjoy dairy products as an important source of calcium, it is important to know your individual tolerance threshold.

Emmental lactose-free - by nature - GOLDSTEIG

Pay attention to lactose content

On many packs of our GOLDSTEIG cheese specialities, we voluntarily indicate the lactose content of our products as a guide for people who suffer from lactose intolerance. During the ripening of hard cheese, semi-hard cheese and soft cheese, lactose is broken down to such an extent that the lactose content in the end product is less than 0.1%. This means that many people who suffer from lactose intolerance can consume these cheeses without hesitation and do not have to miss out on enjoying our Emmental (hard cheese) and Almdammer (semi-hard cheese).
