Why doesn't cheese have a good Nutri-Score?
The Nutri-Score does not always provide optimal results. Delicious cheese is usually high in fat and therefore does not have the best Nutri-Score. GOLDSTEIG cheese, for example, contains a lot of calcium in addition to its good flavour, which is good for maintaining bones and teeth. However, the calcium content is not taken into account in the Nutri-Score, nor are folic acid, iron and vitamin C. The protein content is also very high, but is only included in the Nutri-Score to a limited extent. Nevertheless, a not inconsiderable proportion of GOLDSTEIG specialities are awarded Nutri-Score A(Protinella Kugel, Bambini Protinella Mini) and Nutri-Score C(ricotta, most mozzarella and Emmental products).
Another example that does not fully reflect the true nutritional value: Olive oil is actually healthy because of its unsaturated fatty acids. However, it scores poorly on the nutritional value scale due to its high fat content.
